How did you create your database? Is it a database created by the sev server or is it another database?

The database was created separatly comming from an arduino module. In our database we have just the values of 5 sensors (current, temperature, amps ...). Our project is to use this database(realised out of proview) and realise a process control.

Maybe you need a screen shot of our database?

Thank you.

Hi Claes,

I view the video of MABBA(Proview - MySQL - Server - localhost), and on this one he esplain that if we use another database we have to use the sevnodeconfig and put this one on Prd1(BusConfig). Do you think that is the way to connect our database to Proview?

Thank you.

Hi Benjamin,

I'm afraid there is no general way to access databases in Proview. I took for granted that you had used the Sev functionality to create the database and used SevHist objects to configure the database. If you have not, you have to write a c-application that uses the mysql c API and the Proview gdh API to move data from the mysql database to the Proview runtime database. Exactly how of course depends on what you have stored in the database and what you want to do with it.

Hi Claes,

First i want to thank for all the helpful details that you gave me. But for the last post I read things about how to transform our database into C Application but for me it is a little bit complicated to understand it easily.

So our professor ask us if it possible to connect directly the arduino module with Proview and if it easy to do it ? So I return you the question.

Thank you.

Hi Benjamin,

It is possible to connect the Arduino via. How to configure this is described in Guide to IO System.
With an ethernet shield it is also possible to connect via ethernet and use Modbus TCP.
