I had a similar issue when building from scratch PWR55 on Centos/Redhat 7.4 .

It seems that pwr (called by wb_cmd) is not able to deal with very long command line (due to 3 times the full path of several files)

Can you try by shorten the path where are located the source repo ? I am using a short one like /home/alex/pwr55.

And the compilation was successful

To share some experience

From my side (I am compiling on REDHAT/CENTOS 7.4). I am able to compile the standard PWR55 (sources coming from sourceforge) - just take care about long paths, try using the shortest as possible. pwr cannot deal with large command lines that include 3 times a long path

I have the same issue as you have when trying to compile from a clone of GitHub repository.

After analyzing what he is doing, he's trying to use wb_cmd_motif for compilation. But wb_cmd_motif doesn't exist and comparing to the standard PWR55 (sourceforge), pw_cmd_gtk is not compiled also from sources coming from GitHub

Setting gui="gtk", in build.sh, did the trick.
