Hi.

I have been working on my brewery system for a while now. Yesterday my systen would not run and I don't know what I have changed. I get three errors when booting:

Failed to set priority, plc thread 100 ms, prio 22
IO init Card '...-USB-Mega'. number already configured
Failed to initialize io, %IO-E-INITFAIL, Initialization failed

What could be the problems here?

I have another quiestion also. What would be the benefit of configuring the Arduino Mega as a modbus server compared to using USB?

Regards,
Trygve

Hi Trygve,

'number already configured' means that two channel objects have the same Number.

Thanks.

That was obvious. Should have managed to think that out my self.
And now it runs without errors.

I've been seeing a lot of reference to Arduino and Raspberry PI systems on this forum. This is just my opinion, but I think these system are better used as learning devised rather than production IO devices. There are low cost industrial PLCs with all of the R&D already completed in hardened IO cases for very little money. Check out the Koyo Click and Modicon M241/M251 lines. The Click PLC with MODBUS ethernet is $190US. It comes with four relay outputs, four digital inputs, four analog inputs and 2 analog outputs. It also has the ability to add expansion IO cards and has free Windows programming software. You cannot beat this PLC for its cost for value.
