TOPIC: How to use Profinet stack

How to use Profinet stack 4 years 10 months ago #10305

Hello,

I'm trying to connect a Codesys PLC to a Proview station by using the Profinet protocol.

I added the PnControllerSoftingPNAK and the necessary PnDevice objects to $node. After setting a gsdml file and IP address and such. I used the profinet configurator to configure the slots.

After starting the project I'm not getting a connection. If I use the profinet_viewer tool, I'm getting a error "Softing PNAK not built with this Proview release".

Do I need to install something or am I doing something wrong?

I hope someone is able to help me.

Hi Ricardo,

You need to install the Softing profinet stack. Read this thread. It's two years old but there hasn't been any progress in this issue.

Claes, thanks for the fast reply. I did search around the forum but didn't find the thread you're linking too. I will read it now!

Edit: Too bad that the Softing profinet stack is not really available. Because it's possible for me to revert to other communication protocols, i will not use Profinet.
