Hello everyone,

i create a new VM with ubuntu 20.04 and ProviewR with the RPI-Package.

i convert my old prject from v5.7.1.1 to v5.8.0.1 like the upgrade58.pdf

When i Build Node in the old VM with Ubuntu 18.04 and ProviewR V5.7.1.1, i get get this output in development Console

When i Build Node in the new VM with Ubuntu 20.04 and ProviewR V5.8.0.1, i get get this output in development Console

In both system there is the same local option-file.

For me it's looks like that the new system want to link with the hw_x86_64 and not with hw_arm.

Thanks

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

Check the OperatingSystem in both the NodeConfig object and in 'File/Volume attributes' in the root volume. This should be set to CustomBuild. Also check the OperatingSystem in the CustomBuild object. This should be set to ARM_Linux.

Hello Claes,

thank you for your response.

I think I have the right configuration.

It's exactly the one from the v5711.
I only changed from arm_linux to ARM_Linux (as you wrote) in the CustumBuild / Platform option.
The same result.

Hi Claes,

unfortunately the problem has not been solved.
I tried to compile v5711 from the source in the Ubuntu 20.04 VM. That didn't work. But maybe something got stuck.
So today I set up a new Debian 10 VM.
Now I have exactly the same message as last week on Ubunto 20.04 VM.
After compiling with the correct compiler for Raspberry pi (arm_linux), Proview tries to link the objects with the X86_64 bit linker.
That must fail.
But why does he want to use the X86_64 linker?
I am not aware that I have changed anything about my project except the version number.

Best wishes

wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

I found a mismatch in the setup scripts and there are new packages, pwr58_5.8.0-1.1 and pwrrpi58_5.8.0-1.1, on sourceforge that you can test.

Hi Claes,

thank you very much!

Now the linker procedure work's. ;)

But it seems important to write ARM_Linux in small letters (arm_linux).

I'm trying to set up the Raspberry Pi again this evening and install the project on it.

I'll give you feedback on this.

Thank you again
