I am configuring a Profinet network in my project. I am using Siemens ET200M IO. The problem I am having is that when I add My modules under the IO rack is that I am not allowed to change the names of the module away from M1, M2, M3, etc...
If I configure the slave it add the modules with the name M1, M2, M3, etc... then If I change the name to S3 for example the next time I configure the slave I get a error message as seen in the picture I have attached. Then when you apply or ok the configure slave window it changes all the modules back to M1, M2, M3, etc...

So my question is : Am I trying to change the name of the module wrong or is this not possible right now with Proview?

Hello Keith,

It is not possible to change the module names. The Profinet configurator checks the configuration when it's opened, and identifies the module objects by name. It will be confused if you have changed the names.
