I am currently in the point of building a Proview process station with an
ALIX3d3.
This is a fanless and low consumption industrial PC Board. This board is mounted within an suitable aluminum enclosure. Price is competitive versus any commercial PLC CPU.
I also bought a 8Gb compact flash, thus 1 or 2 Gb may be enough. Compact flash will allow easy content backup, cloning, firmware update, etc.
I just care because flash memories are limited in number of write cycle. I actually do not know if this is a issue with Proview? Dose somebody know how much Proview is using disk?
As IO module I would use Modbus TCP from
Wago (750-352). But you can also find IO modules by Beckoff or Phoenix contact.
