Hi all,

Thanks everybody for doing great work on open source.

Just thought I'd give it a try. I have some experience with Linux,
and as a PA engineer experienced in Siemens PCS 7,
I became interested in Proview.

Getting it 2 work proved to be a bit of a nightmare  , but finally succes :) ,
it starts now. Proview was probably build for an older version Fedora.
Maybe some more hints on versions on this on the main website would be very helpful.

Or maybe CentOS is the better way to go (longer lifecycle) .

I ended up ignoring dependancy's on install, and copying and configuring library files from my CentOS box to the fedora install.

I can now try to take the first steps.

regards,

Bob

Hi Bob,

The timing wasn't the best when building the last Proview packages. They were built 29 May and Fedora 11 was released a few days later on 09 June, and you can actually read in the installation guilde for fedora, on the first line, that they were built on fedora 10.

CentOS might be an alternative, but I think we'll stick to the most popular distributions, and fedora is still ahead of CentOS. We'll make some new packages for fedora 11 in the near future.
