Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if it is possible to share Proview projects as debian packages between different Proview versions and different architectures (i386 and amd64)
Any help appreciated

Hi Maverick,
It is not possible to mix different architectures (32 and 64 bit) in a same system.
If your dev station is 64 bit, you can only build a 64 bit nodes (same for 32 bit).
Maybe Claes can explain more details.

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your answer. Let me explain exactly what i want to know:
-I'm thinking of a way to share Proview projects between two dev stations
-I know that it'll be just fine if these dev stations have both the same architecture and the same version of Proview installed
-But what if there's a need to share Proview projects between two dev stations when these dev stations happens to have different architectures and different versions of Proview? Isn't there any other way than restarting the project from scratch on the other dev station?

Hi Maverick,

We have a server node with a disk that contains all our projects with different versions and architectures. This disk is NFS-mounted on all our development stations, and thus all projects are reachable from all development stations. It's though only possible to open the root volume database and build a project from a development station with then same debian version and architecture as the volume.

The mounted disk also contains the adm directory with user database, project list and volume list that are common for all projects, and we actually also have the different ProviewR releases on the common disk and not on the development stations.
