Start up the virtual machine by double clicking on it in the VirtualBox window.
On start up you will have to enter the username and password at the login screen.

To be able to activate folder sharing and easy switching between the host and guest
(without pressing the host key) Guest Additions must be installed on the guest.
When logged in on the virtual machine (the guest) press the host key (right Ctrl),
then click Devices->Install Guest Additions.

The installation must be done from a terminal window (Applications->Accessories->Terminal).

Change the current directory to the installer CD image by typing the following at the terminal window prompt:
cd /media/cdrom0
then, to list the files:
ls -ahl

Install Guest Additions by typing (notice the capital letters):
sudo sh VBoxLinuxAdditions-x86.run
Enter your password when sudo requests it. (sudo means super user do)
