TOPIC: Making a DEB package

Since, there already are deb packages available, is there a script available to do so? or a guide available? or will the standard procedure of making a deb package (www.webupd8.org/2010/01/how-to-create-de...e-ubuntu-debian.html) do the job? all ideas are appreciated, Regards.
