Hello Proview Forum. I'm still reading through the designer's guide, but took a break to look for some hardware for my project. I found a T1H-EBC100 at Automation Direct ( http://www.automationdirect.com/adc/Shopping/Catalog/Field_I-z-O/Terminator_I-z-O_Network_Interface_Modules/T1H-EBC100 ). Does anyone here know if this will work with proview. I would really like to use this because we currently buy from these guys, but am afraid to purchase it without some one else at least looking over my shoulder. Any questions/comments are welcome.

Hi Toon,

I have no experience of this specific device, but looking briefly at the data sheet, you should be able to communicate with it via Modbus TCP.

That's what I hoped to hear. The main thing that I am wondering about is how to set the IP address of the device. It says that there are no dip switches, and must be set via software. Can ProView do this?

No, Proview can't do it.

I found this description on how to do it http://www.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/t1hebcm/ch3.pdf

Ok, I missed that. I guess I could run netedit3 on wine to take care of the ip config. I also found here http://www.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/t1hebcm/ch5.pdf that if you let the T1H-EBC100 obtain it's address from a DHCP server, you could then connect to it's web utility and statically set the ip address. The web utility approach would be the way to go if you want to stay with Linux 100% as I do.
