Hello everyone,

I come back for a request about upgrade 5.2 to 5.4.

Actually in 5.2, alarm display on our application is not working perfectly in some special condition.
-> When a lot of alarms are set, some error in alarm handler are not displayed properly.

Claes recommandation is to upgrade system with 5.4 to fix this issue.


1/ I upgrade my ubuntu 14.04 LTS with proview 5.4 (Developpement & Runtime).

2/ I move one actual project from 5.2 to 5.4 to compare functionnalities and verify improvement on alarm handler. For now, alarm display is still under test but first results are promising.

3/ I discover another issue I want to talk about : On runtime, I got some segmentation fault during navigation in Multiview mimics display (stop rt_xtt). I remember some patch like pwr52_patch20 (rt_xtt_gtk improvement) have some corrective effect to this issue.
-> Did this modification have been applied to 5.4 version ?

Hi Tbourdai,

The pwr52_patch20 is built in November 2016 while the pwr54 packages are built earlier in Mars 2016, so actually no patch after patch06 is implemented in pwr54. You have to upgrade to V5.5 to also get all the patches. Sorry for giving such bad advices.

Thank you for your fast answer, I'm always happy to read you and hope you are well.

I agree with you to upgrade our system to proview 5.5, but we also have to upgrade system to ubuntu 16.4 LTS.
We plan to upgrade system and software soon but we need time to install and test all functionnalities.

Could it be possible to create pwr54 patches from pwr52 patches over patch6 ?

Hi Tbourdai,

Maybe it would be possible but a lot of work to merge all 25 patches. I actually think it would be easier to build V5.5 on Ubuntu 14.04 instead.

First I will try to quickly upgrade my ubuntu system to 16.04 and Proview to 5.5.

If not working on time, I come back to you for additionnal request about patches on 5.4.

Sorry to disturbe you again but I need your precious help.

We prepare a new system install with ubuntu 16.04.3 Server.
We install proview 5.5 (pwr55).
We import old project V5.2 to V5.5

Everything is OK excepted some segmentation fault on runtime.
This issue is coming when "set multiview subwindow" or "opening a multiview".
After proview start (rt_ini), I can open few multiview (5-6) before segmentation fault.
If just restart graphical interface (rt_xtt), it appear "set multiview subwindow" is almost everytime turning rt_xtt in segmentation fault.
Do you have any idea to go further to this issue ?
