Hi all,

I do think in using proview for personnal challenge to realize my car media center based on raspberry pi.
I'm not afraid in dealing with CAN bus and interfacing with car commands but my first go no go reflexion is about the graphical interface. Let's say If I want to rely my GPS on navit for example, do you think it is possible to call this app from proview GE ideally in a Multiview area ? similar question for every useful app like music player / calendar or e mail..

If not possible how difficult would it be to add a new type of multiview for managing this ?

Would it be easier using android as O.S rather than linux ? I've not worked so much with this O.S but why not give a try if easier.

I'm very interested in CAN Bus.
If you make something about it (like new IO objets for exemple), will you share it to append it to ProviewR ?

Sure Bruno,
no soucy to share
But I'm not sure to add specific IO in proview as I plan to use the PICAN2 shield board for raspberry pi. So I will not have direct access to the bus (which is done inside the shield) but only through SPI I guess.
Anyway I will share my progress with pleasure.

Hi Snarf,

The multiview is a Gtk widget that displays a number of other Gtk widgets, but it's not possible to show the display of another application in a Gtk widget so I don't see how this can be done.
