Hello all,
Since I had a lot of problems/errors to update my actual version (V5.4) 32 bits to newer version, I decide to start a new configuration from the scratch, for that, some doubts raise when I was reading some topic in the forum.

So than I decide to ask what is the best actual Version for:
PC_Developer station: Ubuntu 20.04 64 bits with ProviewR V6.0?
Production station/rpi node (pwrtt): Raspberry 4 with Raspian 64 bits, or Ubuntu 20.04 as the developer station?
Operation station can keep Ubuntu 14 32 bits? Should I upgrade for newer version also?

Can sone one please advice me on that?
Thanks in advanced

Hi Ceccon,

If you want to use 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS with Ubuntu development station you have to use ProviewR V6.1 and Ubuntu 22.04.

There is one annoying bug in 6.1 though, and you should avoid clicking on a selected item in the Ge object editor.

I would recommend you to upgrade the operator station as well.

Hello Claes, here I am with my beginner questions, please see the status

I have 2 develop machines in different computers PC-DEV1 and PC-DEV2

PC_DEV1 is running Ubuntu 14.04 with ProviewR 5.4 (32 bits)
PC-DEV2 is running Ubuntu 22.04 with ProviewR 6.1.3-1 (64 bits)

My problem is, how to transfer all development done in PC-DEV1 to PC-DEV2 without start from the scratch?

Thanks a lot for you help, it will save me a lot of hours
Best Regards

Hi Ceccon,

1. Dump the volume databases to text files with reload.sh on PC_DEV1.

> sdf 'project'
> reload.sh

Only execute the first dump pass in reload.sh. The dump files $pwrp_db/'volumname'.wb_dmp is now created.

2. Copy the project tree from PC_DEV1 to PC_DEV2.

3. Merge $pwra_db/pwr_volumelist.dat and $pwra_db/pwr_projectlist.dat on PC_DEV2 with the files on PC_DEV1, ie copy the lines for the volumes and the line for the project. Also change the version of the project to V6.1.

4. Now you should be able to sdf the project on PC_DEV2.

5. Open the directory volume and save.

5. Reload the databases by running reload.sh and starting from the second pass (skip the dump pass).
