Hello,
We have recently installed proview on machines with dual monitors and the resolution set at 1680X1050. When we run proview the font inside the programs is almost unreadable. Where do we change the font in proview or is our problem that the font used does not exist on our system.

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Keith

Hello Keith,

The font we have used in Proview, Helvetica, doesn't seem to be present in the latest linux releases, instead you get this ugly, unreadable default font. There has to be a way to install the Helvetica font, but I haven't managed to to that. Instead we have changed the font in 4.6.0-4 to another font. Installing this version, or preferably 4.6.0-6 which contains several bugfixes, will fix the problem.

If you choose to install Helvetica instead, please let me know how you managed to do that !

/Claes

Claes,
I have installed pwr46 v4.6.0-6. The problem still exists. I am looking into this to ensure that I did not make nay mistakes. I am also working on installing the Helvetica fonts.

Thanks
Keith

Hi Keith!

Any news or ideas. Can we make it so the user can set the font to their machine, or is this a bad idea?

Hi Keith !

Could you please check that the FontPath-s in /etc/X11/xorg.conf is correct.
It should look something like this. It could be that your paths are invalid.

Section \"Files\"
FontPath \"unix/:7100\" # local font server
# if the local font server has problems, we can fall back on these
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-liberation\"
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/X11/misc\"
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/X11/100dpi/:unscaled\"
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/X11/75dpi/:unscaled\"
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1\"
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/X11/100dpi\"
FontPath \"/usr/share/fonts/X11/75dpi\"
FontPath \"/var/lib/defoma/gs.d/dirs/fonts/\"
EndSection

After changing this file you must restart the X-server for the changes to take effect.

/Robert
