Hej, I am working to get an Ubuntu-based LiveCD of Proview up and running. So far, I have managed to get to a point where the system boots and I can launch the demo application. \"Launch\" means here, that the program starts, but the demos no not work, clicking on start e.g. in the Level Control does nothing (screenshot right).
In a reference Ubuntu installation, everything seems to run smoothly (screenshot, left).

The Ubuntu installation and the LiveCD differ in several minor aspects, such as different default user and machine names, although the user pwrp is used on both systems.

From the log files I do not really get an idea what's wrong. Java is missing, though, although it seems to be optional in my understanding.

Any ideas what's wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Hi tfischer,

Could you please also post the log-file created on $pwrp_log for each of them. Looks like the plc-process is not running on the live-test.

Hi,

You can check that the plc is running by opening the status graph (click on the 'ubuntu' button with the green indicator), and then on the 'plc' button in the left column, and check the loopcount.

I could also be a authorization problem, check the privileges of the user from Functions/User/Show User in the operator window menu. Is the Start button in the level graph sensitive ? (do you get the crosshair cursor, does is change color when you press it ?).

I assume you mean the dialog as shown in the image? Pressing on the buttons (vertically aligned on the left) does not do anything.

This could be a problem, too, as the LiveCD has some strange permissions. The permissions dialog shows:
Current user: pwrp
Privileges: RtWrite System SevRead

Yes, cross hair, gets shadow when clicking on it. Looks like a proper button-click-animation.

The plc should have a green indication which is missing, so i looks as the plc program i not started.

The plc executable is $pwrp_exe/plc_ubuntu_0999_00002. It is created when the node is built at installation of the demoproject. Does is exist and have execute permissions ?

If it doesn't exist you could try to copy and rename the corresponding file from the Ubuntu installation.
