Hi all,

I just finished creating a new rootfs for ARM and tried to launch Proview on it.

As shown in the log result below everything seems nearly normal but no process is "starting" correctly.

The log issue shouldn't be a problem and the double definition I will have a look at but didn't expect such an error producing a "not starting" consequence (right ??).

My last guess was that the Proview ARM tree was not built with the same cross tool chain as the the rest (kernel, and rootfs binaries). (but still using glibc). Do you thinkk this could be a clue ?

Does someone has a hint ?

Thanks in advance

Snarf

Hi Snarf,

The rt_ini process seems to work fine, so I don't think there is a problem with the tool chain.

You will get the "will not be started" message if

- the executable is not present on $pwr_exe or $pwrp_exe.
- norun is set in the ld_appl file for the process.

My guess is that $pwr_exe and $pwrp_exe are not defined correctly.

Thank you Claes,

It's better now ($pwr_exe and pwrp_exe was not defined) in new installation and I only copied the proveiw directory. Is there a list of the required envornment variable so I can add them manually.

I just have the libstdc++ lib missing and it should be correct.

I also have a last problem with pwr_pkg.sh which can't be launched from the development console although the file is present in /usr/pwrrt/exe and is exec. /usr/pwrrt/exe is in the PATH envrionment.

What could be missing ?
root@debarm's password:
pwrp_pkk_debarm_0034.tgz 100% 2312KB 578.0KB/s 00:04
root@debarm's password:
sh: /pwr_pkg.sh: not found

Thanks

Normally $pwr_exe and $pwrp_exe are setup by /etc/pwrp_profile so I suggest you copy this file and execute it in /root/.bashrc with

source /etc/pwrp_profile

This will also fix the second problem where $pwr_exe is not defined when logging in as root.

Hi Claes,

I copy the pwrp_profile and now quite everything is working quite well.

I spent some time to manage busybox to use bash but now it's ok with the relevant option.

Indeed, I have one minor remaining issue which is:

- the distribute fucntion in development station doesnt work for my ARM target and I don't know why. It failed when trying to launch pwr_pkg.sh (sh : pwr_pkg.sh not found) whereas the download has been ok and if I launch direclty on the target the command pwr_pkg.sh -i pacakge_name it works...).
There is also a link to /pwrp/x86_linux somewhere I had to symlink to /pwrp/arm_linux to make pwr_pkg.sh being able to finish correctly its move/renmame process. I will have a look if this can be due a bad environment vairable from my system or if this is hardly written somewhere. This last issue is not really annoying compared to the fact that the automatic unpacking fails.

Do you have any idea of what could prevent the distribute function to behave normally ?

Thank you in advance

Hi Snarf,

In /etc/pwrp_profile $pwrp_... are pointing at /pwrp/x86_linux and should be changed to /pwrp/arm_linux.

The distribution problem is that $pwr_exe is not defined. The shell is trying to execute $pwr_exe/pwr_pkg.sh, and as $pwr_exe is empty the error message is 'sh: /pwr_pkg.sh not found'. The only thing I have done to make it work is to add these lines in /root/.bashrc
if [ -e /etc/pwrp_profile ]; then
  source /etc/pwrp_profile
fi
